Advanced Placement Courses

Classes designated Advanced Placement (AP) are taught on a college level and are designed to prepare students to take Advanced Placement tests which, with qualifying scores, may permit them to receive college credit from many schools. All students in an AP course will be required to take the AP exam in that course to receive AP credit. Five (5) points will be added to each nine weeks’ average and the semester exam. Students who opt out of taking the AP exam will receive credit for the corresponding honors course, and three (3) points will be added to each nine weeks’ average and the semester exam.

All English courses will have summer reading and assignments due upon return to school.
