A NEW WORK BASED LEARNING MODEL
FOR VIKING ACADEMY STUDENTS
GOALS
- Help students develop soft skills
- Strengthen Bristol’s workforce pool
- Broaden awareness of local industry
- Connect students with post-high school employment opportunities
STRUCTURE
Students are placed in a job for four Fridays working in low-skill, entry level positions.

Students then move to another job placement for the next four Fridays, with the opportunity for eight job placements per school year.
- Viking Academy is partnering with non-profit Advance Bristol to provide compensation to students for their work. They are paid $50 per day.
