Invitations to join the National Beta Club were sent to qualifying juniors and seniors Sept. 1. Students with a 93 or above average were invited to join. If you joined last year, you are already a member and do not have to rejoin. If you have received an invitation but have extenuating circumstances regarding the payment of the $40 fees, let Ms. Silvers or Mrs. Sauceman know ASAP

​ FFA will have its 1st chapter meeting of the year on Wednesday, Aug 21 after school in Mrs. Givney's room (1138). FFA is open to any student who is enrolled in an Agriculture class for Fall or Spring semester.

Anyone interested in the Firecracker Squad please see Mrs. Roberson or Mrs. Vance in room 1156A during Viking time this week. The Firecracker squad is an all-inclusive cheer squad in which no cheer experience is necessary.

The deadline for student council permission forms is Friday, August 16th ​ Underclassmen photos will take place on Friday, August 23.

Seniors: You MUST have your school badge to participate in the elementary walk. Early Grads you may pick up a paper badge in the front office.

All Pharmacy applications are due to Mrs. Anderson on March 1st.

There will be an informational meeting in the auditorium on Feb. 14 for any upcoming junior or senior in the health science program of study that is interested in the pharmacy tech class next year.

The mandatory TN Promise meeting for seniors is scheduled for Monday, January 29th, 2024 from 3pm - 5pm in the cafeteria after school. In order for students to remain eligible to receive 2 free years at a community college/TCAT in TN, they MUST be present for the entire meeting.

Governor's School applications are now available to 10th & 11th grade students with at least a 3.0 GPA. Governor's school is a great summer opportunity for students who are Tennessee residents to go to a state college and take college level courses.

Any student that needs to do any make-up work has an opportunity to attend Fall Intersession during Fall Break on Tuesday-Thursday and on Flex Day on Oct. 16. Please register online or see your guidance counselor or teacher to register. Bus transportation is available. 10/2 is the cutoff date to request transportation.

Retakes are Friday, Sept. 29; ordering envelopes are available at the front desk. Students will be called alphabetically. ​

We will have the Munch Box available in the Southside parking lot for a grab n go breakfast on Mondays and Fridays (weather and staff permitting).

he TN High Counseling Office will be hosting a Financial Aid Night on September 19th at 5:30 PM in the THS Auditorium.

The cafeteria has opened up an additional food service cart on the pool side of the cafeteria to help students move through the lines faster. You can use this service at lunch today! ​

ETSU Upward Bound (UB) is now accepting applications for 23-24 school year. UB is a college-prep program that is designed to increase high school students’ opportunities to attend college. Students begin their freshman year and follow the program until they begin their college career.

Attention Current 10th Graders: Are you interested in the Viking U-Associate's Degree Program through Northeast​State Community College? Students who successfully complete the program will concurrently earn their high school diploma and an associate's degree!

The Bristol Tennessee Police Department is offering a Teen Police Academy. WHEN: Beginning Tuesday April 11, 2023 and will continue every Tuesday evening until May 16, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. WHERE: Tennessee High School Criminal Justice classroom

Senior Memory Video: Photos for the senior memory video should be submitted to Mrs. English by Spring Break (3/10/23).

If there is any student whose name is misspelled on their photo package, please see Mrs Vickers by Tuesday, Nov 15. This is very important. If your name is incorrect on your package, it will be printed incorrectly in the yearbook.

In celebration of Veterans Day, Tennessee High School JROTC would like to invite you to honor your friends and family that have served in the United States Military.

The TN Promise Application is due on November 1st! Students are automatically disqualified if they do not apply by this date.

The PSAT is open to sophomores and juniors. The SAT is only open to seniors at this time. Students must register using the forms below by September 6. The PSAT also has a required $20 exam fee that should be paid to the business office by September 6 as well.

There will be a very important meeting of any THS student interested in joining the swimming & diving team for this year this Thursday after school in Coach Estep’s room, Room 2215.

Please come out to the front of the school during your lunch period for cornhole, Chick-fil-a gift certificates, the pretzel truck, and more. Be sure to bring money for the pretzel truck. The THS Counseling Office will host a Junior Parent Night presentation on Tuesday, February 22, at 6:00 PM in the TN High Auditorium. We will discuss registration for their senior year, ACT, college, and career planning. Several local colleges will have information tables set up starting at 5:30 PM, so please come get information!

ART CONTEST: Rachel’s Challenge is asking students to create ART to place in the cafeteria! We ask that students create positive, inspirational art.

Students can apply to East Tennessee State University for FREE this week, January 31- February 4! Students may use this code to bypass the normal fee in the online application: FreeBucs22. This code will work until February 4th at 4:30 p.m., so apply now!

Fall AP Exam Registration Deadline is Friday, November 12. Students currently taking an AP course need to sign in to My AP using their College Board account and confirm their exam registration for each of their AP courses. Students who do not join the online class section and confirm exam registration will not be eligible to test in May 2022.

We desperately need some 9th and 10th graders for the Upward Bound program. If you are a student who would be the first member of your family to attend college and who could use some additional academic support, this would be a great opportunity for you.

Beta Club invitations were sent home to all juniors and seniors (who didn’t join last year) who have a grade average of 93 or above. If you haven’t received a letter and believe you should have, please stop by and check with Mrs. Sauceman or Ms. Silvers who will verify for your grade average.

The 1st Annual Military Service Academy Day will be Saturday, September 18th at 9:30 a.m. at Walters State Community College. If a student is interested in attending any of the Military Academies it would be very beneficial to attend this meeting. To register please email [email protected]

Anyone interested in playing tennis for Tennessee High this spring should meet in Mrs. Kitzmiller’s room (#1216) during Viking Time this Wednesday, September 1.

Seniors: On Tuesday, October 19, you will take the ACT test during regular school hours. This is your chance to take the test in a familiar and less-stressful environment, complete a big part of the college application process, and find out more about your path after high school.

Class Officer applications for all grade levels are available in homeroom announcements on Canvas. Interested students must complete and submit the application by Monday, August 23.
