The Science Bowl team, sponsored by teachers Rich Reece and Julie Bittinger, competed at the Tennessee High School Regional Science Bowl competition on February 24. Science Bowl participants include Caden Cartwright, Lily Chen, Bree Eaton, Paul Letson, and Pavitra Surma. The team had an outstanding record of 5-2. Additionally, they earned the Civility Award, which included a $100 prize. The Civility Award is given to the team that is respectful and courteous, supportive of fellow competitors, obeys competition rules, and positively engages in all aspects of the competition. Each team is evaluated by 12-15 judges to determine the recipient.
Senior team member Bree Eaton stated, “It’s such a fun experience getting to meet people from across the state who share the same love of science as you do.”
