  • Rules for wearing a Halloween costume:

    1. Daily dress code rules must be followed.
    2. Masks or facial coverings of any kind will not be permitted. 
    3. Props will not be permitted as part of a costume. 
    4. Cleats or spikes may not be worn.  
    5. No weapons, look alike weapons, spikes, chains, ropes, etc. may be brought to school.  (see rule 3)
    6. Make up, hair dye, head bands, hats, sunglasses, and wigs may be worn. (sunglasses must be removed during class)
    7. Costumes must not prevent the student from full participation in class. 
    8. No fake blood/gore of any kind.
    9. You must arrive at school already dressed up.  Do not bring items to school to get ready. 
    10. Costumes that require fans or inflatable devices inside of them will not permitted. 
    11. No hoods are allowed at any time. 
    12. Costumes must not depict any violence. You may not dress up as a violent character. 
         13..  Administration reserves the right to ask any student to change out of a
               questionable costume.
 
  • Seniors, please move your cars from the senior parking lot by 3:15 on Wednesday 10/26. The parking lot will be used for a trunk or treat from 4-6pm.

  • Attention all current high achieving 10th and 11th grade students: The Tennessee Governor's Schools applications are now available. Governor’s School provides eleven challenging and high-intensity programs for rising 11th and 12th grade students. Each school offers a unique learning environment for students interested in the arts, humanities, agriculture science, STEM programs, advanced mathematics, physics, leadership, international studies, Tennessee history, or potential teaching careers.  Students interested in applying, please go to the link below and click on the school in which you are interested to download an application.

    • Applications, and submission information will be posted on the webpages of each individual Governor’s Schools site. Art Governor School applications are due to Mrs. Skeens by November 18th and all other Governor School applications are due by December 2nd. Please remember THS due dates are not the same as the State deadlines. All completed applications are to be turned in to the counseling office by THS deadlines.

     

  • The TN Promise Application is due on November 1st!  Students are automatically disqualified if they do not apply by this date. and that is sad 🙁

     

  • November 17th is FAFSA Help Night -- details to come!

     

  • New Beta Members: You have been added to a Canvas group. Please check the group for announcements about the ceremony and when we will practice. If you are a new member and haven’t been added to the Canvas group, please contact Ms. Silvers or Mrs. Sauceman.

     

  • The Beta/National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7 pm in the auditorium. New members of both clubs should meet in the chorus room for club pictures at 6 pm.
 
  • Please join Rachel’s Challenge this Friday as your new club this year.  Rachel’s Challenge Club (also called Friends of Rachel) emphasizes kindness and school-wide encouragement.  Can you think of a particular project we can do?  Anyone can join. See Mrs. Sutherland on Friday during homeroom, and stay with us.  Sign up at door 3414. 
    • Rachel’s Challenge will meet for five consecutive Fridays during homeroom: Oct. 28, November 4, 11, 18.   No meetings occur in December or early January.  Rachel’s Challenge Club meetings will resume January 27, Feb. 3, 10, 24. 
    • No meetings occur at all in March or May. We might meet in April, but I’m not sure yet. 
  • FCA meets on Fridays in the auditorium right after school.  All are welcome.

     

  • First Priority meets EVERY TUESDAY of the school year in wellness room 2445. All are welcome.
