The THS Counseling Office will host a Junior Parent Night on Tuesday February 22nd at 6:00 PM in the TN High Auditorium. We will discuss registration for their senior year, ACT, college and career planning, and much more! Current Junior parents and students, please plan to join us! ART CONTEST: Rachel’s Challenge is asking students to create ART to place in the cafeteria! We ask that students create positive, inspirational art. There will be separate walls/sections for the display of each grade level. If interested, students must complete, and turn in by Feb. 9, an initial 8 ½ x 11 sketch of their design, including their name, grade, and the proposed size of the finished artwork.
Final artwork must be no smaller than a normal sheet of paper and no bigger than a poster board. Sketches are due February. Students who are chosen to place their artwork on the walls will be notified February 16. These students will then have a month to complete their piece: final pieces due March 9.

Community Service Hours for Graduation Recognition & TN Scholars: All community service hours for TN Scholars and Graduation recognition are due into the counseling office by the end of the day Friday March 11th. -To qualify for TN Scholars students must meet the academic requirements (https://tennesseescholars.org (Links to an external site.) ) and complete 60 hours of community service since entering high school. -To qualify for Graduation Recognition students must complete 10 hours each semester of high school. Remember hours from summer and Christmas break can count for either semester (prior to or after that break). Contact your counselor if you have any questions.
ATTENTION SENIORS: The Mandatory TN Promise Meeting is now VIRTUAL!

Mandatory Meeting: While we hoped to be in many of the high schools this fall for the mandatory TN Promise meeting, out of an abundance of caution, the mandatory meeting will now be completed virtually. The mandatory webinar will be available on November 8, 2021 with a March 1, 2022 deadline to complete the requirement for students to maintain TN Promise eligibility.
They can view the mandatory webinar via their tnAchieves CONNECT account at their convenience. Students will need to do the following steps:
1. Go to www.https://tnachieves.org/
2. Find the STUDENTS tab and click on LOG INTO CONNECT.
3. Click on FIRST TIME USING CONNECT and create an account (You will need to remember your account information!)
4. Find the link for the Mandatory Webinar and watch completely before March 1st.
5. You can see you THS Counselor if you have any questions
Senior Memory Video: Photos for the senior memory video should be submitted to Mrs. English by Spring Break (3/11). Each senior can submit 2 photos (formal yearbook photos are automatically included). Photos including several senior friends are great! If you have any group photos from elementary school, those are always fun too! Mrs. English also needs song suggestions! Email photos and/or song suggestions to Mrs. English at [email protected].
ATTENTION SENIORS: FAFSA is now open for seniors to fill out for the 2022-2023 school year. Go to: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.
Here are some videos to help you fill out the FAFSA: https://www.etsu.edu/financial-aid-and-scholarships/fatv.php. If you plan to go to ANY college/university or TCAT, you MUST fill out the FAFSA. The deadline to fill out the FAFSA and stay eligible for TN Promise is February 1st, 2022. However, fill out the FAFSA as soon as you can to ensure you receive any federal aid or scholarships you might qualify for. See your THS counselor if you need help.
THS First Priority Club meets weekly on Tuesday mornings at 7:00 AM in room 3414. Join us!
If we have Viking Time, THS Rachel’s Challenge Club will meet on Thursdays in room 3414. WE are NO LONGER meeting in the cafeteria.
FCA will meet in the auditorium every Friday after school.
