Temporary Homebound COVID-19 Isolation/Quarantine

It is important to stay caught up when you are out!

Student Expectations

  • Check-in DAILY on Canvas or as communicated by the classroom teacher if the internet is unavailable to the student.
  •  Participate daily in completing assignments and coursework.
  • Report any technical issues through the Tech Helpline (423-652-9430) as soon as the problem arises and email the teacher if possible.
  • Students may have the option to log in to live sessions. If that is feasible for the student and teacher, the student should follow online expectations determined by the teacher.
  • Turn in paper copies of assignments if online access is not available.
  • If students need more assistance than what's available via Canvas, they can attend virtual LEAPS while quarantined.  Teachers are available via TEAMS meetings from 2:45 to 4:00. These meetings can be accessed with these links:

Virtual Leaps English
Virtual Leaps Math
Virtual Leaps Science
Virual Leaps Social Studies

  • Students are STRONGLY encouraged to attend LEAPS upon returning to school if they need further instruction due to absences. There are teachers there from most subjects who can help with instruction missed.

Parent/Guardian Expectations

  • Set up a dedicated learning space in the home.
  • Maintain open lines of communication by phone and email with teachers.
  • Support academic integrity by appropriately assisting their child with assignments or projects.
  • Ensure their child is submitting assignments on time as directed by the teacher.
  • Communicate any issues or questions directly to the teacher by phone or email.

Students in isolation due to COVID-19 who may be too sick to complete daily assignments will be given up to 10 school days to complete coursework.
