Hey, Seniors! Worried about getting your community service hours during COVID? Not sure you'll have time to complete all your hours? TN Achieves/TN Promise is now accepting VIRTUAL community service. All you have to do is click on the link below, log in, and watch webinars for one hour of community service per webinar. You must complete 8 hours of community service to stay eligible for the TN Promise Scholarship. See your THS School Counselor if you have any questions.

ATTENTION SENIORS! Still need help filling out your FAFSA? The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) is hosting a statewide virtual FAFSA help session on December 16, 2020 from 4pm-7pm cst.  If you are needing assistance with completing the FAFSA or have questions, feel free to attend the event.  You must register to receive the link to the session.  To register, click on the following link: You may also contact the outreach team anytime by emailing or calling 615-350-8668.

Wednesday, December 2: Remote Day

Thursday, December 3: all in-person Math 1, 2, & 3 students will take their EOC beginning at 7:30 am. All other remote & in-person students will report to their second period class.

Test room assignments will be shared by teachers and posted to Canvas homeroom pages, as well. Please make sure to be in your assigned test room by 7:30am and to bring at least 2 sharpened number 2 pencils with you.

Tennessee High School’s PTA NEEDS YOU! Our main source of funding comes from membership dues from parents and teachers. WHAT DO PTA DUES FUND? Membership dues help the PTA fund $1200 in annual scholarships for two seniors each year; host luncheons for teachers and staff; and help purchase special items for students as requested by staff.

HOW TO JOIN PTA? Joining the THS PTA could not be easier. Simply click on the link below. The dues are $7 per individual; or $20 per family.

ACT Academy will be held from 2:30-3:00 in room #3414 on Tues, Wed, Thursday every week except Finals week.

 The Beta/NHS Induction Ceremony planned for next week has been cancelled.  New members: please continue to monitor announcements and the Canvas groups for information regarding a new date.

Attention rising 11th and 12th graders: The 2021 Tennessee Governor's Schools applications are now available. The Tennessee Governor’s Schools provide eleven challenging and high-intensity programs for rising 11th and 12th grade students. Students interested in participating in a Governor's School should go online to obtain the application. Submission information, and critical deadlines for the upcoming summer’s Tennessee Governor’s Schools is published on the Tennessee Governor School website or  Students who would like to apply need to be in the top 10% of their class and be interested in spending up to 6 weeks on a college campus over the summer. Application materials require input from students, parents, and multiple educators. Students interested in the Governor School for the Arts are expected to complete student application materials and return them to Mrs. Skeens by Thanksgiving Break. All other Governor School applications are due to Mrs. Skeens by Christmas break.

Please make sure that you have your parking lot stickers displayed properly in your vehicle.  All students who park on campus in either the Sr. Parking Lot or the Southside Parking Lot must have their vehicle registered in the office (see Ms. Alley in the business office for the required paperwork) and have the proper parking lot sticker displayed in the windshield of their vehicle.  Vehicles that are not registered with the school and do not display a LOT PARKING PASS are considered to be parked illegally and are subject to towing at the owners expense.  Only properly registered vehicles with the current 2020-21 Parking Lot Window Stickers will be allowed to park in campus parking lots after Friday, November 6th.

Attention Senior Students and Parents! Need help with the FAFSA? The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the 2021-2022 application opens tomorrow, Thursday October 1st! 

  • FAFSA Line-by-Line Webinars will be held each Monday beginning Oct. 5 at 6 pm CT / 7pm ET. The webinar will take a student/parent through the FAFSA from start through submission.
  • FAFSA FAQ Webinars will be held each Friday beginning Oct. 9 at 11:30 am CT / 12:30 pm ET. This webinar provides a forum to ask questions about the FAFSA.

 If the student plans to take clinical internship class next semester, they MUST obtain a copy of proof of the flu vaccine administered when they get it here at school. It is nearly impossible to track down once they leave and months have gone by. They can bring that directly to Mrs. Moore and I will file it away safe until needed next semester.

 FCA meets on Fridays after school in the auditorium.

 LEAPs Afterschool Program started up again on Tuesday September 8. 

 The upcoming ACT Test date is December 12. Nov. 6 is the last day to sign up for the Dec. 12 ACT

Therefore, THS will host ACT Boot Camp study nights from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm on the following dates:

Monday - Thursday, December 7 - 10

No boot camps in January (no ACT tests in January) 

The location for Boot Camps is now the THS Library. Students should enter through the LEAPS door/wellness door 5 at the front of the school.  

 A fire can breakout with little or no warning. The more prepared you are, the safer you will be. Smoke detectors should be located on every floor of your home and near all places that you and your family sleep. Smoke detector batteries should be changed on a regular basis.
